Rolex Award for LPP Founder

LPP's work in Rajasthan has been recognized through an international prize from Rolex Awards for Enterprise.

LPP's founder and project co-ordinator, Dr Ilse Köhler-Rollefson, was named an Associate Laureate for 2002 by an international jury.

"Ilse Köhler-Rollefson spends half of each year in a remote part of India’s Thar Desert where she has become a leading advocate of a struggling community of camel-herders," says the award. "Köhler-Rollefson is leading a remarkable movement to save their livestock, pastoral livelihood and way of life."
